Electrician
Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and any other electrical requirements as needed for both Production and Mining departments and ensure that work is in accordance with all relevant codes. Candidates must meet all Electrician requirements of the job description and have medium voltage experience in a manufacturing/production environment to be considered for the job.
Responsibilities- Comply with all Imerys, MSHA and Equipment Mfg Safety Policies and Procedures.
- Knowledge of fundamentals of electricity and their applications for the operation of medium voltage substations and equipment.
- Follow Industrial/Manufacturing safety practices and procedures.
- Maintain 480volt and 4kV electrical systems; use low and medium voltage test equipment, motor theory and maintenance.
- Understand and work with electrical wiring for industrial systems and components, and modify existing control systems.
- Troubleshoot electrical problems in an industrial facility; install, maintain and repair electrical conduit, wiring and controls.
- Utilize applicable tools and equipment of the trade.
- Advanced Motor Control Troubleshooting: connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.
- Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, and fixtures.
- Troubleshoot with PLC ladder (Allen Bradley) and HMI as needed.
- Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits using devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes to ensure compatibility and safety.
- Use a variety of tools and equipment such as power construction equipment, measuring devices, power tools, oscilloscopes, ammeters, and test lamps.
- Read, employ, and update electrical prints.
- Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures based on job specifications and local codes.
- Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes.
- Ability to troubleshoot and commission VFDs and Soft Starts.
- Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
- Communicate and interact with co-workers and supervisors.
- Any other job duties assigned by management.
- Required to work overtime and on off–shifts as needed.
- Must be able to lift and maneuver 50pounds.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Electrical Certification with at least 5years of experience in electrical maintenance.
- Completed degree from an accredited institution may be substituted for experience on a year‑for‑year basis.
- Trade/Technical Degree or Completed Apprenticeship in Electrical Maintenance.
- Experience in electrical maintenance in the manufacturing industry and knowledge of medium voltage.
- Experience with diagnostics and troubleshooting of various electrical equipment and machinery, compressors, pumps, conveyors, etc.
- Knowledge of NEC code.
- Knowledge of NFPA
70E. - Formal training on PLCs and VFDs.
Pay Rate: $37.50 per hour plus quarterly incentive bonuses. Position Type:
Full time and Permanent.
