Utility Forklift Operator

Job Summary

Full‑time, permanent Forklift Operator positioned in an indoor warehouse setting. The role involves operating forklifts and related equipment, coordinating shipments, and maintaining accurate records as part of the company’s logistics operations.

• Operate forklifts and other machinery such as truck scales, bulk trucks, bag trucks, and sweeper.
• Communicate with customer truck drivers, dispatchers, the Transportation Department, Shipping Clerk, and Customer Service about shipment details.
• Assign trucks to loading docks and prioritize loading activities.
• Conduct pre‑shipment inspections of bag trucks and prepare shipping documents.
• Unload, sign for incoming freight, and load bag trucks as required.
• Maintain shipment records and enter work orders in the CMMS system.
• Perform daily inspections of the work area, report conditions, and ensure a clean and safe environment.
• Carry out all additional duties assigned by the supervisor or designate.

• Filing trucks, bulk trucks, bag trucks, sweeper, and forklift.

• Indoor environment with temperature variations and dust exposure.
• Overtime may be required.
• Personal protective equipment (head, eye, and foot protection) is mandatory.

• High school level reading, writing, and basic math skills.
• Desirable forklift driving and equipment operation experience in a production or warehouse environment.
• Strong communication skills—verbal, written, and listening.
• Ability to assist and collaborate with others to coordinate activities and schedules.
• Capability to compare data, make adjustments, and operate equipment safely.

• Twisting, kneeling, sitting, climbing on and off equipment, walking, signaling, hearing, color differentiation, and attention to detail.
