Position Overview
The position has personal contact with foster children, their natural parents, foster parents, personnel at various placement homes and agency employees. Grade 18
Duties and ResponsibilitiesWork Schedule - 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, 40 hours a week. Schedule may vary to accommodate the individual needs of the client. This position is responsible for accurately processing the following:
- 5094's and Board Payments
- 5120 & 5120a
- Child Support referrals
- CCNC referrals
- Maintain IV-E and Adoption files
- PPR scheduling and letters
- Placement calls
- Family notification letters
- Court notebook and Court orders---make copies for the notebook and the workers.
- Lifebook assistance
- Links files and expenditures
- Prepare files for scanning at closure
- Clothing allowance spreadsheet
- Responsible for storage and organization of children's belongings
- Spreadsheet of children in care placements address and phone numbers
- Filing assistance for SW's when time allowed
Graduation from high school and demonstrated possession of knowledges, skills and abilities gained through at least one year of office assistant/secretarial experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Possession of a valid, State of North Carolina driver's license to operate a motor vehicle. Requirement exists at the time of hire and as a condition of continued employment.

- Ability to use a variety of office equipment and learn to use specialized office equipment.

- Ability to gather and give information and instructions regarding the work process or procedures
- Ability to use correct grammar, vocabulary, spelling and office terminology to compose and/or proofread correspondence, reports and other materials.
- Ability to learn and independently apply laws and departmental rules and regulations covering programs and services.
- Ability to review and process information to determine conclusions, actions or compliance with applicable laws, rules or regulations.
- Ability to apply a variety of work-related formulas or mathematical calculations.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of information.
- Skilled in written and verbal communication, organization and time management.
