T14202 Dental Hygienist

The purpose of this position is to function as a dental hygienist in the School of Dental Medicine clinics and Community Service Learning Centers. This position is located in Sylva, NC. The primary duties include reviewing and revising patient histories, performing oral prophylaxes, educating patients on plaque removal and control, applying topical fluorides and occlusal sealants, making study models, explaining treatment alternatives, recording treatment performed, exposing and processing x-rays, and handling instrument maintenance and sterilization.

The position also involves escorting patients, cleaning and disinfecting operatories, maintaining necessary materials, managing patient recall systems, aiding with front desk duties, and participating in staff meetings.
