AboutOur Team
Our dedicated Respiratory Therapy team at Harris Regional, an 86‑bed facility offering a full range of services including general surgery, women's care, intensive care, and emergency services. Our team is committed to delivering exceptional respiratory care, continuously seeking ways to enhance the patient and family experience. We work closely with all providers and caregivers to ensure the best possible outcomes for every patient we serve.
HowYou'll Contribute
- Measure lung capacity and analyze blood samples using a blood gas analyzer.
- Deliver and assess response to ordered therapy per plan of care, and monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
- Evaluate respiratory care policies and procedures based on patient outcomes, current research, and best practices.
- Respond to codes and calls for emergent assistance; assess patient condition and deliver appropriate treatment.
- Educate the patient and family about the patient's illness and provide information about community support groups and other resources.
- Monitor, receive, stock, and distribute respiratory care supplies and medical gas cylinders.
- Maintain storage areas with required supply levels and equipment.
- Disassemble, clean, and sterilize equipment, and perform preventative maintenance and calibration of machines.

- Graduate of a school of Respiratory Therapy and registered as a Respiratory Therapist in North Carolina.
- Basic Life Support certification required within 30 days of hire.
- ACLS and PALS required within six months of hire.
- One year of experience preferred.
- ASLS certification preferred.
