Lead the Front Door of Patient Care

Harris Regional Hospital is seeking an experienced Patient Access Manager to lead registration, admissions, and front-end patient access operations for our growing hospital in beautiful Sylva, North Carolina.

As our Patient Access Manager, you will:

• Lead a highly visible operational department
• Influence patient satisfaction and financial performance
• Partner with hospital and system leadership
• Drive process improvement initiatives and operational excellence
• Develop and mentor future leaders within your team
• Make a measurable impact on the patient experience every day

• Lead day-to-day Patient Access operations, including registration, admissions, and patient intake processes
• Ensure efficient patient flow while maintaining excellent customer service standards
• Monitor department productivity, quality, and performance metrics
• Identify opportunities to improve workflows, efficiency, and patient access outcomes

• Recruit, coach, develop, and inspire a high-performing Patient Access team
• Provide leadership and support to Supervisors, Coordinators, and front-line team members
• Conduct performance management, coaching, and employee development activities
• Foster a culture of accountability, service excellence, and continuous improvement

• Ensure accurate patient registration and demographic capture
• Support front-end revenue cycle performance through process optimization and quality monitoring
• Develop and maintain department policies and procedures
• Ensure compliance with hospital, regulatory, and payer requirements

• Collaborate with clinical, operational, and revenue cycle leaders across the organization
• Participate in hospital committees and cross-functional initiatives
• Lead projects that improve operational performance and patient experience

• Build and maintain a highly engaged team culture
• Improve registration accuracy and operational efficiency
• Drive accountability through metrics and performance management
• Deliver exceptional service to patients, families, providers, and staff
• Partner effectively across departments to solve challenges and improve outcomes

• 5+ years of healthcare operations experience
• 3+ years of leadership experience in a hospital or healthcare setting
• Experience leading Patient Access, Registration, Admissions, Financial Clearance, or related Revenue Cycle teams
• Strong understanding of patient registration workflows and healthcare operations
• Demonstrated success leading teams and driving operational improvements
• Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills

• Bachelor's Degree
• Experience in acute care hospital environments
• Knowledge of revenue cycle processes and performance metrics
• Experience implementing workflow improvement initiatives
• Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.

For this US-based position, the base pay range is $65,099.03 - $81,373.79 per year . Individual pay is determined by role, level, location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
