The surgical department includes a 14-bed pre‑op, 4‑bed PACU and 6 operating rooms. With dedicated surgeons, nurses and OR assistants, you will gain experience in areas such as general surgery, OB/GYN, orthopedic/sports medicine, ENT, urology, bronchoscopies, dental extractions and pediatric dental restorations. This position works in pre‑anesthesia testing, where the RN will manage patient records by contacting the patient, reviewing medical history and medications and explaining what to expect on the day of surgery.
Responsibilities- Accurately perform patient assessments and identify patient needs.
- Identify and initiate appropriate nursing interventions.
- Provide care appropriate to the condition and age of the patient.
- Perform timely and appropriate documentation related to medical necessity in the medical record.
- Responsible for completion and revision of the interdisciplinary care plan for each patient.
- Perform timely and accurate QI assessments.

- Current North Carolina or compact state Registered Nurse license and an associate's degree from an accredited nursing school.
- American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support certification required within 30 days of hire.
- AHA ACLS and PALS required within six months of hire.
- One year of experience preferred.
- Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and ability to work with minimal supervision; must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
