Position: Registered Nurse (RN) Mother/Baby - PRN

Registered Nurse (RN) - Mother/Baby

Schedule:

PRN, As Needed - Weekends, Holidays, Days or Nights.

Team & Unit

Our 14-bed Women's Services Unit includes a Level 2B nursery with 6 beds and an 8-bed Labor & Delivery/Mother-Baby unit. With an average of 50 deliveries per month and a below-average C-section rate, we provide comprehensive care for expectant mothers and newborns. This role offers the opportunity to work in a supportive environment that promotes a positive birthing experience and ensures the health and well-being of mothers and infants.

You will also have the opportunity to cross-train in each area of this department.

Our department uses a self-scheduling application.

Responsibilities
  • Accurately performs patient assessments and identifies patient needs.
  • Identifies and initiates appropriate nursing interventions.
  • Provides care appropriate to the condition and age of the patient.
  • Performs timely and appropriate documentation related to medical necessity in the medical record.
  • Responsible for completing and revising the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient.
  • Performs timely and accurate QI assessments.

Requirements
  • Current North Carolina or compact state Registered Nurse license.
  • Associate's degree from an accredited nursing school.
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support certification required within 30 days of hire.
  • AHA ACLS and PALS certifications required within six months of hire.
  • One year of experience preferred.
  • Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, ability to work with minimal supervision, and capability to act appropriately in a stressful environment.
