Registered Nurse (RN) – Lead House Supervisor
Schedule:
Full‑time, days. Holidays and weekends required.
The House Nursing Supervisor provides 24‑hour coordination of appropriate patient placement throughout the hospital, working closely with all departments, medical staff, and administration to maximize the use of the hospital’s resources and provide quality patient care.
How You’ll Contribute- Assist with developing departmental goals, standards, and objectives that support the organization’s strategic plan.
- Manage staff relations, including performance management, staff satisfaction, and conflict resolution; oversee scheduling, development, recruitment, payroll, and student engagement.
- Respond proactively to changes in census, staffing, and acuity, communicating with supervisory staff as needed.
- Assess the quality of patient care delivered and coordinate patient care services with patients, staff, physicians, and other departments; provide patient care when necessary.
- Create and foster an environment that encourages professional growth.
- Collaborate with department directors, case management, and physicians to reduce barriers within the system that may impede patient flow.
- Monitor bed availability across all levels of care to meet changing patient placement needs.
- Investigate complaints from patients, relatives, physicians, personnel, and visitors, taking necessary steps toward resolution.
- Assist in identifying, coordinating, and conducting education, training, and in‑service programs for patients and staff.
- Integrate evidence‑based practices into operations and clinical protocols.
- Supervise staff, schedule house supervisors, oversee department orientation, education, and communication.
- Serve as point of contact for job‑specific questions and update department policies.

- Licensure: Current RN licensure in North Carolina or from a compact state.
- Education: BSN preferred from an accredited nursing school.
- Experience: Minimum of four years of acute‐care nursing practice with sufficient clinical and management experience.
- Certifications: Current American Heart Association BLS; ACLS and PALS within one year of hire and thereafter.
