Position: Registered Nurse (RN) Nursery - PRN

Registered Nurse (RN) – Nursery Job

Job Type: Part Time | PRN, Variable Schedule (12‑hour shifts, PRN – As Needed). Shifts may be days, nights, weekends or holidays.

About the Unit

A 14‑bed Women’s Services Unit featuring a Level 2B nursery with 6 beds and an 8‑bed L&D/Mother Baby Unit. The unit averages 50 deliveries per month with a below‑average C‑section rate, providing comprehensive care for expectant mothers and newborns in a supportive environment.

Responsibilities
  • Accurately perform patient assessments and identify patient needs.
  • Identify and initiate appropriate nursing interventions.
  • Provide care appropriate to condition and age of the patient.
  • Perform timely and appropriate documentation of medical necessity in the medical record.
  • Complete and revise the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient.
  • Perform timely and accurate QI assessments.
Qualifications
  • Current North Carolina or compact state Registered Nurse license.
  • Associate’s degree from an accredited nursing school.
  • AHA Basic Life Support certification within 30 days of hire.
  • AHA ACLS and PALS certifications within six months of hire.
  • One year of experience preferred (not required).
  • Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, ability to work with minimal supervision, work effectively in a stressful environment.
