Registered Nurse (RN) – PACU

Job Type: PRN – Days

Schedule: Overtime 8, 10, or 12 hour shifts, PRN as needed.

Harris Regional Hospital is looking for a Registered Nurse to work in our 4‑bay PACU of the surgical department. The RN will provide post‑operative care for a diverse set of patients, including general surgery, OB/GYN, orthopedic, ENT, urology, bronchoscopies, dental extractions and pediatric dental.

• Accurately performs patient assessments and identifies patient needs.
• Identifies and initiates appropriate nursing interventions.
• Provides care appropriate to condition and age of patient.
• Performs timely and appropriate documentation relating to medical necessity in the medical record.
• Responsible for completion and revision of the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient.
• Performs timely and accurate QI assessments.

• Current North Carolina or compact state Registered Nurse license.
• Associate's degree from an accredited nursing school.
• AHA Basic Life Support certification required within 30 days of hire.
• AHA ACLS and PALS certifications required within six months of hire.
• Preferred:
  One year of experience in a PACU or similar setting.
• Strong critical‑thinking skills, decisive judgment, ability to work with minimal supervision, and work effectively in a stressful environment.
