Come grow with us! Ward Plumbing, Heating & Air is hiring an experienced Warehouse and Fleet Specialist to support our fast-paced plumbing and HVAC operations.
This position helps ensure the efficient receiving, storage, organization, ordering, and distribution of service parts, materials, tools, equipment, PPE, uniforms, and other company assets. The Warehouse and Fleet Specialist also supports the maintenance, organization, and readiness of our vehicle fleet.

Working Hours:
7:00 AM–6:00 PM, four days per week. Occasional Saturdays may be scheduled in advance.
Reports To:
Training & Logistics Manager
- Support daily warehouse operations, including receiving shipments, stocking materials, checking out items, and maintaining inventory.
- Place and track orders for service parts, warehouse stock, tools, and other operational supplies.
- Coordinate with technicians and managers to confirm accurate part information and ordering needs.
- Monitor inventory levels and reorder commonly used stock to prevent shortages.
- Replenish field vehicles with materials and supplies used on jobs.
- Assist with warehouse and vehicle inventory counts.
- Maintain an organized, clean, and safe warehouse, loading area, and facility grounds.
- Help protect the security of the facility, equipment, and inventory.
- Follow established workplace health and safety procedures.
- Schedule preventive maintenance and repairs for company vehicles.
- Coordinate vehicle registration and license plate renewals.
- Schedule annual North Carolina vehicle safety inspections.
- Complete vehicle cleanliness inspections and internal safety checklists.
- Help ensure company vehicles remain safe, clean, and ready for daily use.
- Receive, inspect, and stock materials, parts, and equipment.
- Organize inventory so materials and parts can be located and distributed efficiently.
- Pull daily replenishment orders for technicians based on items used in the field.
- Order service parts and communicate updates regarding availability and estimated arrival.
- Verify received orders for accuracy and report shortages, damages, or incorrect items.
- Assist with the movement of tools, equipment, and inventory.
- Perform routine cleaning and basic upkeep of the warehouse and surrounding grounds.
- Ability to pass a thorough driving record and criminal background check.
- Two years of experience in warehouse, inventory, fleet, purchasing, or parts operations is preferred; motivated candidates with a strong desire to learn are also encouraged to apply.
- Self-motivated and able to work productively without constant supervision.
- Familiarity with the HVAC, plumbing, or home-service industries is preferred, but not required.
- Ability to regularly lift and move tools, materials, and equipment weighing up to 80 pounds.
- Ability to safely use hand trucks, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Flexible and able to adapt as schedules and business needs change.
- Basic computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office products.
- Good listening skills and the ability to ask appropriate questions.
- Sound judgment and problem-solving skills.
