Job Title and Location

Dental Assistant – Instructor – Part Time (Mornings and Evenings)

Location:

Sylvania, OH

Responsibilities
  • Teach in the Dental Assistant classroom with 10–20 students, covering clinical and administrative skills.
  • Learn the material and deliver lectures and demonstrations, working from the Ross lesson plans and curriculum.
  • Conduct class sessions for 4.5 hours either during day or evening sessions.
  • This is a part‑time position, typically 0–18 hours per week.

Qualifications
  • 3+ years’ experience in the field and a national certification as a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA from AMT) or Certified Dental Assistant (CDA from DANB) and formal training in a dental assisting program like Ross.
  • Alternate qualification: 5+ years’ experience in the field and a national certification if formal education is not available.
    * Additional requirements or exceptions may apply based on state, program and accreditation requirements.
  • Interest in teaching or prior experience.
  • Must be flexible and have a passion to learn and grow.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time, move around the building and classroom to satisfy student needs and facilitate student participation. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the position.
  • Ability to use visual and auditory equipment, computer, telephone, read materials, use whiteboard and classroom equipment; reasonable accommodations may be made for qualified individuals with disabilities.
  • Ability to use current technology to maintain student records.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in classroom and individual settings.
  • Knowledge of subjects that will be taught to students and ability to use and communicate Ross curriculum.
  • Ability to adapt quickly in a fast‑paced work environment.
  • Ability to achieve or maintain credential and/or licensure within expected time frames.
  • Demonstrates professionalism in manner, dress and conduct as a representative of Ross and as a student mentor.
  • Ability to remain objective and treat all students equally.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Adheres to Ross Code of Conduct and Professional Ethics.
  • Clinical Coordinators need to have ability to travel to visit clinical sites or other meetings.
  • Prior teaching or formal tutoring experience using a developed curriculum is preferred.
  • Perform related work as required.
