The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for maintaining the delivery of quality care by assuring that the nursing care plan is followed. This role involves supervising Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees while focusing on patient safety and superior quality of care.
Responsibilities- Perform a nursing assessment on all patients within 8 hours of admission, using the data to create an individualized plan of care.
- Identify teaching needs and goals based on the nursing admission assessment and collaborate with the patient/family and interdisciplinary team.
- Provide timely patient information and status updates during team conferences.
- Accountable for accurate and timely documentation of all assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the medical record.
- Participate in the patient rehabilitation program using the nursing process for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care.
- Initiate discharge planning and patient teaching from the day of admission.
Communicate changes in patient status to ensure continuity of care and safety. - Provide direction and supervision to ancillary nursing personnel, utilizing effective problem‑solving and time management skills.
- Maintain personal and environmental safety in accordance with hospital policies.
- Contribute positively to the unit's functionality by providing calm direction and support.
- Communicate service needs related to supplies and clinical training to ensure the completion of assigned duties.
- Assume charge responsibility as requested and pursue professional growth through continuing education.
- Prioritize activities and plan effectively to meet patient needs.
- BLS Certification required prior to first shift.
- ACLS certification required (CIRH ONLY) prior to first shift.
- Minimum of two (2) years bedside clinical experience is highly desired.
- ICU and critical care experience are required.
This position follows a day shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts.
