Teacher Aides

We work with students from 6 weeks old to 8 years old, including children with diverse learning needs. Teacher Aides play a key role in creating a supportive, nurturing, and engaging environment for every student while assisting teachers in their daily classroom routines.

As defined by the New York State Education Department (SED), a Teacher Aide assists teachers with non-instructional duties, including:

• Helping manage classroom materials, records, and equipment.
• Supporting students’ physical and emotional needs throughout the day.
• Supervising students to ensure a safe and positive learning environment.

  Typically, 8:00 AM – 3:00/3:30 PM or 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM, Monday through Friday.
• Year-Round Program:
  Our school operates on a 12-month schedule(212 School Days)
• Employees are expected to follow school policies and the annual calendar regarding personal time off.
• Hourly Rate:
  Competitive, with differentials for certification level and bilingual ability. Approximately $17 – $20 per hour.
• Paid Time Off:
  Earn 1 hour of PTO for every 30 hours worked, up to 56 hours per school year (July 1 – June 30).

Our work is hands-on and active! You’ll be moving throughout the day—engaging with children, assisting in classrooms, and ensuring a safe, fun environment.

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, run, sit, kneel, and climb stairs.
• Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs (preschool age) and 50 lbs (school-age) as needed.

• Background clearances, education verification, annual physical, and PPD required.
• Flexibility to take on additional related duties as needed to support our school community.
