Speech Language Pathologist

Variety Child Learning Center (VCLC) is a 4410 not-for-profit agency providing quality educational and therapeutic services to young children with disabilities. Our facilities are located in Syosset, Levittown, and East Northport NY. Our schools operate 12 months/year following a school-based calendar. We offer a Speech Language Pathologist position with immediate, July, and September start dates. Hours are typically 8:00am-3:30pm Monday-Friday.

• Expertise in treating a wide range of pediatric speech and language disorders; knowledge of articulation, language, fluency, voice, and social communication interventions.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with children, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
• Patience, creativity, and adaptability in engaging children during therapy sessions.
• Proficient in documentation and record keeping, including evaluations, progress notes, and IEP reports.
• Experience with AAC devices and ABA methodologies a plus.

• Master’s Degree in Communication Disorders or Speech and Language Pathology.
• Current NYSED license as a Speech/Language Pathologist.
• Teacher of Students with Speech and Language Disabilities (TSSLD) or Teacher of the Speech and Hearing Handicapped (TSHH).

This job operates in a school environment. Activities usually take place in the classroom, in the gym, outside on the playground, or in special activity rooms. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers, iPads, printers/fax/scanners, telephone, and shredder.

This role may be physically demanding. The employee is required to be non-sedentary. Must be able to stand; run, walk; sit; bend, climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch;
The employee must be able to lift an average pre-school age child (35 pounds) and school age child (50 pounds).
