Growing boutique Accounting & Tax Services firm is seeking a Tax Manager to join their team!

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Deliver a full range of tax services by preparing federal and state income taxes for individuals and small business clients.
  • Follows all procedures to ensure the required documentation for tax returns are received, stored and maintained.
  • Provide tax planning consultation to tax clients.
  • Build relationships and interact with clients to provide excellent planning, consulting, and expert tax services.
  • Build new and existing client relationships and demonstrate knowledge of client businesses.
  • Review returns completed by other tax preparers.
  • Supervise, review, and evaluate work of tax staff.
  • Coordinate and monitor training of staff with owner.
  • Manage tax compliance process, including all required documents for tax returns.
  • Improve processes by developing, implementing, or improving best practice procedures.
  • Update and continue to design tax worksheets and procedures for more accurate and efficient tax work.
  • Help maintain and create procedures and update tax manual.
  • Respond to tax notices & correspondence received by tax agencies.
  • Prepare internal memoranda, written correspondence/guidance, and other documents for submission to the IRS or other government agencies.
  • Manage and coordinate tax audits, tax changes, budgets & production goals for multiple clients.
  • Recruit, interview, and train new staff members involved with the tax business.
  • Work with CEO to design marketing and growth ideas.
  • Work to build business and create a “brand”.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • CPA or EA certification.
  • 5+ years of experience in tax preparation & filings of personal & small business tax returns.
  • Supervisory experience.
