Accounts Payable Specialist

Description

Robert Half is looking for a dedicated Accounts Payable Specialist to join an exciting organization in Syracuse, New York. This position allows for remote flexibility 1-2 days/week. The ideal candidate will bring strong organizational skills and attention to detail to maintain compliance with company policies and support vendor relationships.

Responsibilities:

- Process invoices and payments efficiently while adhering to established financial policies and procedures.

- Manage supplier information and ensure accurate maintenance of vendor accounts.

- Verify, classify, and record accounts payable data for seamless financial operations.

- Handle purchase order invoices, including verification of quantities, pricing, ledger coding, posting, and filing.

- Prepare outgoing payments by reviewing invoices, running totals, posting transactions, and organizing checks for mailing.

- Collaborate with internal departments to obtain approvals and ensure proper general ledger coding.

- Reconcile monthly credit card activity and vendor accounts to maintain accurate records.

- Assist with month-end closing tasks such as prepayments, accruals, and ledger reconciliations.

- Investigate and resolve discrepancies by analyzing vendor statements and accounts.

- Generate detailed reports to track accounts payable status and support financial analysis.

Requirements

- Proven experience in accounts payable.

- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills for vendor and team interactions.

- Experience working with Microsoft Suite
