Bookkeeper

Description We are looking for a skilled Bookkeeper to join our team in North Syracuse, New York. This Contract to permanent position is ideal for an organized and detail-oriented individual with experience in managing financial records and transactions. The role requires proficiency in bookkeeping and familiarity with accounting processes to support the company's financial operations effectively.

Responsibilities:

- Maintain accurate financial records by managing general bookkeeping tasks and ensuring data integrity.

- Process accounts payable (AP) transactions, including reviewing invoices and issuing payments.

- Handle accounts receivable (AR), including invoicing, tracking payments, and following up on outstanding balances.

- Conduct timely bank reconciliations to ensure accounts are balanced and discrepancies are resolved.

- Perform check runs and ensure proper documentation is maintained for all payments.

- Utilize Microsoft Great Plains Dynamics for accounting tasks and financial reporting.

- Collaborate with other departments to ensure financial transactions align with company policies.

- Prepare financial reports and summaries to assist in decision-making processes.

- Monitor and track financial data to identify trends or irregularities.

- Support audits and compliance reviews by providing necessary documentation and reports. Requirements

- Proven experience in bookkeeping, with a strong understanding of financial processes.

- Proficiency in accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) management.

- Expertise in performing bank reconciliations and resolving discrepancies.

- Familiarity with Microsoft Great Plains Dynamics or similar accounting software.

- Ability to manage check runs and maintain accurate documentation.

- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with team members and external stakeholders.

- Accounting experience in a manufacturing setting is preferred
