Overview

We are seeking a strategic, detail‑driven Accounting Manager to lead our general accounting operations and support key financial decision‑making across the organization. This role partners closely with the President and leadership team to drive financial accuracy, operational efficiency, and long‑term business growth.

The ideal candidate brings strong accounting expertise, leadership capability, and a proactive mindset to improve processes, strengthen controls, and support a dynamic manufacturing environment.

General Accounting & Financial Reporting
  • Manage all general ledger activities, ensuring accurate and timely financial data.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets and profit & loss reports.
  • Analyze financial performance, trends, and variances to support strategic decision‑making.
  • Oversee account reconciliations and maintain strong internal controls.
  • Recommend and implement improvements to accounting systems, workflows, and reporting processes.
  • Manage company cash flow and forecasting.
Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable & Office Support
  • Supervise AP/AR functions and support staff.
  • Review vendor invoices, verify pricing and quantities, and process payments.
  • Lead and mentor employees performing accounting activities.
Payroll Administration
  • Prepare and process weekly payroll.
  • Maintain employee payroll records and generate internal and 401(k) reports.
  • Support preparation of total compensation reporting.
Manufacturing & Cost Accounting Support
  • Analyze manufacturing costs and provide insights on pricing, profitability, and cost drivers.
  • Support product pricing strategies and model/part‑level cost analysis.
  • Monitor inventory transfers and valuations, including coordination with the European warehouse.
Tax, Audit & Compliance
  • Coordinate with external accounting firms for annual compilations and tax filings.
  • Manage European VAT submissions, invoices, and ICP declarations.
  • Prepare annual 1099s and audit W‑9 forms and sales tax exemptions.
Cost Reduction & Operational Efficiency
  • Audit contracts, orders, and vouchers to validate transactions.
  • Analyze utility consumption (gas/electric) and recommend cost‑saving opportunities.
  • Assist with insurance coverage decisions and audit additional coverages.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Support lease agreements and other financial commitments.
  • Maintain banking relationships and ensure compliance with loan covenant requirements.
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally to support organizational goals.
Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop accounting team members.
  • Oversee hiring recommendations, training, work assignments, scheduling, and performance evaluations.
Qualifications
Required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and general accounting principles.
Skills & Competencies
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook), Adobe Acrobat, and PICK.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Leadership capability with experience supervising accounting staff.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Work Environment &

Physical Requirements
  • Office‑based role with occasional travel and exposure to the manufacturing floor.
  • Frequent sitting, typing, and use of office equipment.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
