Location: City of Syracuse
Overview
Position: Office Assistant 1 (temporary, summer) at the Great New York State Fair. These are full-time positions offering 37.5 hours/week, Monday–Friday. Represented by CSEA. Pay rate: $17.35/hour.
Responsibilities- Provide clerical support to the Agriculture and Competitions Department, Sponsorship Department, or the Administration Office.
- Your duties may include data entry, document creation, answering phone calls, greeting visitors, and scheduling meetings.
Location:
New York State Fairgrounds, 581 State Fair Boulevard, Syracuse, NY.
Schedule:
May–October 2026 or June–October 2026 (exact dates may vary).
Parking:
Ample free parking available during the summer.
- Minimum qualifications:
None specified; candidates should have a passion for serving customers. - Preferred: strong communication skills, excellent attention to detail, professionalism, strong organizational and telephone skills.
- CSEA-represented positions with health insurance options, free dental and vision coverage, and NYS Pension Plan membership.
- Potential eligibility to participate in the Federal Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program (PSLF) for educators employed by qualifying employers.
