Job Summary:
Coordinates scheduling, exam prep instruction, medical necessity verification, and patient reception and discharge. Interfaces effectively with Medical Imaging Billing Coordinator, Outpatient Scheduling and Nursing Units. Works with the other team members to provide and maintain high quality care and treatment of the patient. Provides age specific care as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
The NYS Department of Civil Service has developed the Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement (HELP) Program. During this program, the NYS Civil Service Exam requirements are suspended for the Hospital Patient Services Clerk 2 title.
For consideration for this title, you must meet one of the following minimum qualifications:
NYS Department of Civil Service Eligible list or eligible for transfer
Or
Promotional:
You must be a qualified employee of the State University of New York and have had one year of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service as a Hospital Patient Services Clerk 1 or as a Nursing Station Clerk 1
Or
Open Competitive (Non-competitive, NY HELPS)
Qualifications:
Two years of full-time clerical experience in a health care setting; or two years of full-time secretarial experience in a health care setting; or two years of full-time patient care experience in a health care setting

Schedule based on a 40-hour work week. Monday - Friday 11:30am - 8pm, rotating holidays. Located at Community Campus
