Responsibilities
  • Documentation of existing conditions of the site to develop an existing conditions report.
  • Review the project drawings and specifications and ensure that the general contractor conforms to all Quality Control elements.
  • Coordinate and lead weekly job site meetings with the GSA.
  • Ensure the contractor implements an effective QC program and uses the provisions daily to control the quality of the work.
  • Conduct comprehensive site inspections of all construction work on a daily basis to ensure quality of materials, proper installation of construction systems, and adherence to the construction documents.
  • Review all submittals, track the submittal and RFI review and approval process. Review the General Contractor's schedule. Prepare a cost estimate(s) as needed.
  • Keep an updated set of marked-up drawings on site.
  • Review contractor payment invoices.
  • Keep a detailed log of change order submissions.
  • Provide the GSA team with recommendations as needed.
  • Assist with coordination of construction work and schedule.
  • Create and administer project close-out punch list.
  • Assist GSA in tracking and coordinating project employee clearances.
  • Must be on site at all times during construction.
  • Minimum Qualifications

    Experience:

    Minimum of 5 years construction management experience with a CCM certification or 10 years experience with a four-year engineering or architectural degree and successfully completed a construction project of similar scope and complexity: $1M Elevator renovation or replacement. GSA experience preferred.

    Education:

    Bachelor's degree in Architecture or Engineering.

    Preferred

    Certifications:

    OSHA 30 Hour Certificate.

    Skills:

    Verbal and written communication. Must be capable of using scheduling/Critical Path Method software.

    Additional
    • Physical ability to climb ladders and navigate construction sites unaided.
    • Federal experience preferred, particularly with GSA.
    • Ability to work within a team.
    • Strong attention to detail.
    • Understand and develop construction schedules.
    • Knowledge and experience using Microsoft Project.
    • Understand and develop detailed Scopes of Work for design and construction projects.
    Physical and Environmental Demands

    • Constantly assessing the accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of the work assigned.
    • Occasionally ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles and the like.
    • Occasionally moving self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces.
    • Occasionally remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods.
    • Occasionally moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another.
    • Occasionally adjusting or moving objects up to 50 pounds in all directions.
    • Occasional low and high temperatures due to working outside during all seasons, along with elements such as precipitation and wind.
    • Occasional noise while on construction sites.
