Position Overview
C&S Companies is looking for a General Construction Assistant Project Manager to assist Project Management and Pre-Construction team in the planning, bid leveling, coordinating and administration of general contracting construction projects. Areas of focus will be general construction project support, RFI coordination, submittals/shop drawings, subcontract development, change orders verification and development, scheduling, and construction progress tracking. This position will report to a Project Manager.
PositionResponsibilities
- Support day-to-day project management activities to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Manage and maintain all project documentation, including contracts, RFIs, submittals, change orders, meeting minutes, and closeout records.
- Assist with project scheduling and milestone tracking, coordinating updates with field and office teams.
- Support budget management, cost tracking, forecasting, and change management processes.
- Assist with subcontractor buyout, onboarding, compliance documentation, and contract administration.
- Track subcontractor invoices, pay applications, lien waivers, and related financial documentation.
- Coordinate with the Superintendent and field teams to support logistics, material procurement, trade coordination, and issue resolution.
- Participate in project meetings, field walks, inspections, and coordination efforts to support construction progress and quality.
- Support safety, quality control, and regulatory compliance, including documentation and corrective action tracking.
- Assist with project closeout activities, including punch list management, O&M manuals, warranties, as-builts, and final record turnover.
- Basic knowledge of the construction industry and construction principles/practices.
- Basic knowledge of how to interpret construction drawings, contract documents, and construction sequencing.
- Excellent written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills, plus ability to manage a team of varied disciplines.
- Strong work ethic and desire to work in a team environment.
- Advanced knowledge of MS office, Bluebeam, MS Project.
- Proficiency with Procore and Primavera software a plus.
- Experience with Building Information Modeling (BIM) a plus.
- Must be flexible for learning new things and a trustworthy teammate.
Estimated Compensation Range: $60,000 – $70,000/year
Actual compensation may vary based on related work experience, geographical location and market conditions, education/training, certifications, and other credentials, as well as applicable knowledge and skills.
