About the Role
The Project Engineer works as a team member for a leading electrical contractor. This role oversees and is responsible for ensuring the management, coordination, and organization of data necessary for project readiness, as well as various tasks in developing cost estimates for program work.

Responsibilities- Ensure all required pre‑construction documents are received, complete, and accurate (permits, drawings, sketches, specifications, and client requirements).
- Track and manage project files, submittals, and deadlines for readiness.
- Review project specifications, addenda, and contract documents to confirm scope compliance.
- Validate permits and documentation are current and compliant prior to project start.
- Support schedule development and milestone tracking for pre‑construction activities.
- Interpret drawings and specifications to develop accurate, up‑to‑date unit‑based cost estimates.
- Assist in estimate reviews and ensure adherence to company estimating processes.
- Obtain and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotes for completeness and competitiveness.
- Coordinate with internal teams and clients on estimates, schedules, and submittals.
- Utilize client systems for document submission and tracking.
- Ensure consistency, accuracy, and completeness of project documentation and estimates.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of estimating and document control processes.
- Experience in estimating, document control, or construction project support.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and file management systems.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
- Collaborative team player with proactive communication.
- Knowledge of estimating software and construction processes.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience acceptable.
- Experience with Microsoft Project or Primavera P6 software.
- Business degree a plus.
- Experience with management systems such as Pro Core, Quick Base, SharePoint.
- Salary $55,000 - $65,000 per year
- Commensurate with experience, paid weekly. Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. MYR Group reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate.
