Join Our Team as a Project Manager with our Construction Risk Management group in Syracuse, NY!

Hillmann Consulting is hiring a Construction Risk Management Project Manager in Syracuse, NY. This hybrid Project Manager position offers the opportunity to work on property condition assessments, construction progress monitoring, due diligence reviews, and consulting projects for lenders, investors, and developers nationwide.

These services include pre-construction due diligence and construction documentation review, existing property condition assessments, as well as progress monitoring during construction.

Who We’re Looking For: A self-motivated and detail-oriented individual, with strong organizational skills and a proven commitment to customer service.

Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering / Construction Management / Architecture; or equivalent degree.
  • Experience:
    • 2 – 5 years of construction / design related experience.
    • Registered Architect (RA) or Professional Engineer (PE) – preferred
  • Skills:
    • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
    • Strong client relationship and communication skills, with the ability to manage expectations effectively and professionally.
    • Excellent time management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Teams
    • Proficient in reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications.
    • Ability to work on multiple projects and/or tasks simultaneously
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail
    • Ability to prepare detailed reports and present findings clearly and professionally.
  • Other Requirements:
    • Mastery of the English language – written and spoken
    • Valid driver’s license
    • Reliable transportation + willingness/ability to travel overnight by car as well as occasional regional air travel
    • Ability to work from ladders
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment
Responsibilities:
  • Complete detailed reviews of pre-construction due diligence documentation and prepare comprehensive reports that accurately identify and assess construction-related risks for clients.
  • Review and evaluate construction and architectural contracts, plans, specifications, hard-cost budgets, and project schedules.
  • Conduct periodic construction progress site visits and prepare detailed reports providing accurate project updates and professional assessments of construction risks.
  • Perform walkthrough surveys of existing buildings to evaluate the condition of major building systems and develop estimated costs for recommended repairs and improvements.
  • Complete special projects and assignments as directed by the management team.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with colleagues, clients, and industry partners.
  • Maintain excellent client communication and provide responsive, professional service.
  • Promote a positive attitude and demonstrate a willingness to learn, adapt, and overcome challenges.
  • Continuously develop individual strengths, skills, and industry knowledge to support professional growth and career advancement.
  • Assist in expanding the business by engaging with clients, identifying opportunities, and fostering long‑term partnerships.
