Overview
As a Float Teller, you will specialize in branch customer experience through digital engagement, lobby management, transactional processing, and retail servicing interactions. You will process a variety of financial transactions accurately and efficiently, frequently traveling between branches to assist staff as needed.
Responsibilities- Adhere to established customer‑service standards and deliver a differentiated experience that addresses customer needs in real time.
- Educate customers through shoulder‑to‑shoulder digital demonstrations and identify self‑service opportunities that meet their needs.
- Actively engage in lobby management, greet customers, and proactively inquire to address immediate needs.
- Accurately balance and process customer transactions in accordance with Bank policy.
- Take ownership of escalated account‑service issues until resolution and log all complaints in the appropriate system.
- Transition identified sales opportunities and introduce customers to the appropriate banking partner.
- Complete branch‑related operational activities such as cash ordering, vault, ATM, and wire transfer tasks.
- Process customer/account maintenance accurately.
- Conduct Consumer AML (Anti‑Money Laundering)/BSA (Bank Secrecy Act)/KYC (Know Your Customer) related activities.
- Adhere to applicable compliance and operational risk controls in accordance with company or regulatory standards and policies.
- Promote an inclusive environment that supports belonging and reflects the M&T Bank brand.
- Maintain internal control standards, including timely implementation of audit points and regulatory requirements.
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) with a minimum of six months of customer‑service experience, including data entry and/or cash handling.
- Ability to travel between branches on an as‑needed basis.
- Proven verbal communication, interpersonal, and customer‑service skills.
- Well‑organized with strong time‑management and prioritization skills.
- Proficiency with internet‑level technology.
- Bilingual preferred, depending on branch needs.
- Ability to stand for long periods and use hands and fingers extensively.
- Ability to lift light to heavy objects weighing 5–30 lbs.
- Ability to read fine print and interact face‑to‑face with customers.
Pay range: $18.00 – $26.21 per hour (USD).
Location:
Syracuse, New York.
