General Surgery-Surgicalist-Physician - Syracuse, NY

St. Josephs Health, a leading healthcare system in Central New York, is seeking a Surgicalist Physician to join our dynamic and supportive team in Syracuse. This position focuses exclusively on emergency and acute surgical care within a hospital setting, offering an engaging and fulfilling medical practice in a collegial environment. SCHEDULE

• 3 weeks per month- 5 ten-hour days/week (Monday-Friday)
• Total of 180 weekday shifts per year
• 2 weekend days per month- 24 shifts per year

PRACTICE ENVIRONMENT

• Work alongside a dedicated, high-performing care team
• Our Surgicalist is supported by an experienced team of surgical PAs who assist in the OR and play a key role in managing floor rounding and patient care.
• Hospital-based with no clinic responsibilities, option to pick up clinic time

QUALIFICATIONS

• Active New York State medical license and DEA
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in General Surgery

RECRUITMENT PACKAGE

St. Josephs Physicians offers an excellent compensation and benefit package including:

• Base Salary: $290,000 - $315,000 annually
• The posted salary reflects the starting range of total compensation and does not include productivity bonuses, incentives related to quality and performance, extra shift incentives, and other forms of cash compensation as applicable to the position. In addition, providers typically receive a CME allowance and other benefits offered by their medical group employer. Please note that this salary range is provided in accordance with State law and is subject to variation due to the factors noted above.
• Quality Bonus:
  Up to $25,000
• Opportunity to earn Additional Compensation:
  • $1,750 per additional Surgicalist shift
  • $750 per 14-hour weekday overnight shift (Mon-Fri)
  • $1,200 per 24-hour weekend shift (Sat-Sun)
  • $1,200 per 24-hour holiday shift
• CME time & $4,500 annual expense allowance
• Loan Repayment: Our institution qualifies as an eligible employer for the federal Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) program
