Part‑Time Faculty: HFS 255 Interpersonal Competence (Spring 2026)
Human Development and Family Science is seeking a part‑time instructor to teach HFS 255 (3 credits) Interpersonal Competence during the Spring 2026 semester. The course focuses on interpersonal problem‑solving skills, helping theories appropriate to human development settings, and applying theory to practice settings.
Qualifications- Master’s degree or PhD.
- Previous teaching experience.
- Develop and/or update a class syllabus.
- Order the appropriate books and materials in advance of the class.
- Prepare lectures, projects, or other student assignments.
- Maintain regular office hours of two hours per week.
- Present instruction based on competency and performance levels of the class.
- Meet all designated class periods; reschedule class or obtain substitute if unable to meet due to illness or emergency.
- Notify the department chair (or their designated contact) of absence and plan to cover the class.
- Work with the academic unit to maintain student learning outcomes.
- Submit completed final grades according to University regulations.
- Grade student assignments and exams in a timely manner.
- Provide departmentally sanctioned forms for completed student evaluations.
- Complete all other course‑related duties as outlined by your department’s policies for part‑time instructors.
