Position: Preschool Substitute Teacher Aide - Full & Part Time
Location: City of Syracuse

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Schedule:

Day shift, Monday to Friday (Flexible Schedules are available)

  • School-day hours with student dismissal at 2:30 M, T, Th, F and 12:30 Wed. No nights or weekends!

Essential Job Functions
  • Foster positive relationships with children.
  • Ensure safe and engaging learning environments, providing consistent supervision, being alert to safety concerns, and responding quickly and calmly to ensure the safety of all.
  • Collaborate in classroom planning and activities.
  • Document and track student progress.
  • Build and maintain professional relationships with both parents and colleagues.

Skills and Qualifications
  • High school diploma.
  • Experience with young children and/or children with diverse abilities.
  • Sensitivity and understanding in diverse settings.
  • Confidentiality and discretion.
  • Independent and team-oriented work ethic.
  • High motivation and enthusiasm.
  • Effective verbal communication.
Physical Requirements
  • Frequent movement throughout the school building, including classrooms and playground areas.
  • Occasional lifting, carrying, or moving of materials and equipment up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to engage in floor-level and outdoor interactions with young children.
  • Sufficient vision and hearing to observe, communicate, and maintain safety within a classroom and community setting.
  • Capacity to manage occasional high-stress situations calmly and professionally, including crisis intervention or emergency response.
