Responsibly lead planning and execution of on‑campus recruitment events, manage a recruitment territory, evaluate admissions applications, and collaborate with alumni, students, faculty, and external partners to promote a diverse and talented student body.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the planning and execution of existing and new admissions events on campus, including Orange Preview, Spring Receptions, and other recruitment activities.
  • Communicate Syracuse University’s value proposition to prospective high‑school students and their families to generate interest.
  • Manage event budgets and materials, including purchasing, invoicing, and expense reconciliation.
  • Read applications and evaluate credentials as part of the admissions selection team; recommend admission decisions in support of enrollment goals and meet all numeric targets within the specified timeframe.
  • Collaborate with University Marketing and Communications and the Admissions Student Relationship Management team to develop print and web‑based materials for recruiting events.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • 2–5 years’ experience in selective college admissions or a related field, including student employee or volunteer roles.
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license.
  • Strong event planning experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal, presentational, and written communication skills.
  • Superior organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Availability to travel within the U.S. and to work in‑person at the worksite, including evenings and weekends as necessary.
  • Effective communication skills to articulate the value of a Syracuse University education.
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in selective admissions.
  • Ability to deliver key recruitment messages through presentations, conversation, and writing.
  • Experience cultivating relationships with campus partners, vendors, prospective students/families, counselors, and alumni.
  • Proficiency with technology, including Microsoft Office and Slate.
