Job Title: Miron Fellow for Learning & Engagement
Status: Full Time, Non-exempt, 37.5 hours weekly, benefits eligible
Reports to: Director of Learning & Engagement
Fixed-Term: through August, 31, 2027
The Miron Fellow for Learning & Engagement is an early-career opportunity for emerging museum professionals to gain meaningful, hands‑on experience in public programming, community engagement, and arts education. Working closely with the Director of Learning & Engagement and the Manager of K‑12 & Family Programs, the Fellow will support the planning, administration, and implementation of educational programs, including lectures, tours, workshops, and special events.
The Fellow will also contribute to special projects such as developing gallery‑based interpretive materials, facilitating Teen Arts Council initiatives, and designing outreach activities.
- Collaborate with staff to develop exhibition‑related and gallery‑based interpretive materials, including family guides and tour booklets
- Co‑de‑develop and facilitate Teen Arts Council programming
- Develop and lead educational activities and art‑making experiences for outreach visits and school tours, in collaboration with staff and volunteer docents
- Assist with setup and breakdown of programs such as workshops, tours, lectures, and artist talks
- Support general program facilitation as needed
- Create support materials for public programs, tours, and outreach activities
- Support program development through collaborative research and brainstorming
- Coordinate booking, scheduling, invoicing, and communications for tour and outreach experiences
- Create internal calendar events, manage registration forms, and run reports using Veevart
- Manage event participant information and records
- Develop and distribute follow‑up surveys for program participants and partners
- Collect and maintain attendance records, event reports, and partner contact information
- Draft program agreement forms and gather required information from external partners
- Support inventory tracking and ordering of Education Center supplies
- Respond to community inquiries
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent training and experience in art education, museum studies, fine arts, education, or related field required. This position is intended for recent graduates within 1‑2 years of undergraduate or graduate study.
- Some experience with public programs or working with K‑12 audiences is preferred
- Knowledge of classroom management and facilitation strategies
- Familiarity with museums or non‑profit organizations, structures and processes is helpful
- Willingness and ability to use databases and/or registration systems
- Strong team player, excellent interpersonal skills, and ability to work collaboratively within and beyond the institution
- Enthusiasm for working in a fast‑paced environment
- Excellent organizational skills, follow‑through, and attention to detail, including ability to work on multiple programs and deadlines simultaneously
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work a schedule that supports the Learning & Engagement Department, including some flexible and variable hours, such as weekends and evenings
