The Department seeks a part‑time instructor to teach DRA 221 Voice/Verse I, a three‑credit hour introductory course for BFA performance majors in Drama. The course focuses on exercises that free the voice for healthy and spontaneous expression of thought and feeling, using diverse materials to explore heightened poetic language.
Qualifications
- Advanced or terminal degree (or equivalent professional experience) desirable.
- Demonstrated teaching effectiveness.
- Expertise in a diverse range of voices in contemporary and historical theater.
Responsibilities
- Teach class twice per week for 110 minutes.
- Develop and/or update a class syllabus.
- Prepare lectures, projects, or other student assignments.
- Maintain regularly scheduled office hours.
- Deliver instruction consistent with the course competencies and performance levels.
- Meet all scheduled class periods; if unable to teach due to illness or emergency, reschedule or obtain a substitute and notify the department chair.
- Submit completed mid‑semester progress reports and final grades per university regulations.
- Grade student assignments and exams in a timely manner.
- Provide departmentally sanctioned forms for completed student evaluations.
- Build a positive rapport with students and other faculty.
