Part-Time Faculty: COU 614 - Group Work in Counseling (Fall 2026)

The Department of Counseling & Human Services seeks a part-time instructor to teach lessons for the fall semester 2026. Including: principles of group dynamics, group developmental stage theory, leadership styles, and group leadership methods, with a focus on the integration of practice and theory in multiple group contexts. Course includes student participation in a within-class group experience.

Qualifications:

PhD and clinical experience leading groups required. College level teaching experience highly desirable.

Responsibilities:
Developing and/or updating a class syllabus. Ordering the appropriate books and materials in advance of the class start date. Preparation of lectures, projects or other student assignments. Maintaining regularly scheduled office hours. Presenting instruction based on the competencies and performance levels of the course. Meeting all designated class periods. Submitting completed mid-semester progress reports and final grades according to University regulations.

Grading student assignments and exams in a timely manner. Providing departmentally sanctioned forms for completed student evaluations. Participating in departmental meetings or workshops. Building a positive rapport with students and other faculty.
