Assistant Teaching Professor - Statistics
The Department of Mathematics at Syracuse University invites applications for a non-tenure-track full-time teaching position with administrative responsibilities. The start date is August, 2026 and the initial appointment can be up to three years. The position includes teaching six courses per year and administering the statistics sequences. A Ph.D. in mathematics or closely related field is required. Candidates should have a strong track record in teaching mathematics to undergraduates. Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in Statistics, mentoring and advising students at various levels, participating in departmental and university service activities, engaging in interdisciplinary collaboration, and contributing to the university's mission. The position also requires acting as the Course Supervisor for the statistics courses, ensuring uniformity, appropriateness, and continuity of the course material, and consulting with other STEM departments about the statistics sequence.
