Pay Range: $1,440 - $2,000 per credit hour (prorated)

Pay Determination: Salary offers based on education, experience, and relevant skills within the context of the home department or school.

FLSA Status: Exempt

Hours: As determined by department/chair. Office hours required.

Job Description

The College of Arts & Sciences at Syracuse University is seeking a Part‑time Instructor to teach CSD 671 – Advanced Clinical Audiology II (Fall 2026 semester).

Course

Description:

Concepts and practice in screening and diagnostic audiology, including clinical decision analysis, otoacoustic emissions, wideband acoustic immittance, and clinical applications of auditory evoked potentials.

The hiring rate of pay for the successful candidate will be determined based on their per‑credit‑rate history within the hiring department. All course offerings are subject to funding availability and enrollment.

Qualifications
  • Masters degree or Doctoral degree in Audiology
  • Current CCC in Audiology
Responsibilities
  • Developing and/or updating the class syllabus.
  • Ordering the appropriate books and materials in advance of the class start date.
  • Preparing lectures, projects, or other student assignments.
  • Maintaining regularly scheduled office hours of two hours per week.
  • Presenting instruction based on the competencies and performance levels of the class.
  • Meeting all designated class periods. If unable to meet due to illness or emergency, reschedule or obtain a substitute and notify the department chair or designated contact of the absence and plan to cover the class.
  • Working with the academic unit to maintain student learning outcomes.
  • Submitting completed final grades according to University regulations.
  • Grading student assignments and exams in a timely manner.
  • Providing departmentally sanctioned forms for completed student evaluations.
  • Completing all other course‑related duties as outlined by the department’s policies for part‑time instructors.
