Position: Part-Time Faculty - Legal Foundations (JDi Residency) and LCR courses (JDr)
The College of Law is a seeking a part-time instructor to teach one or more sections of the following:

Legal Foundations:
This is the first residential course in the online JD program. It is a two-credit course designed to prepare students to study law. The course will introduce students to the American legal system, build a foundational understanding of the basic framework of legal and lawmaking institutions, and help prepare them to succeed in their legal studies.

Legal Communications and Research courses:
These courses introduce our first-year students to the fundamentals of legal research, writing, and advocacy.

Qualifications

* Candidates should have an excellent academic record and should hold a JD degree from an accredited law school.

* Preferred post-JD experience and credentials should include significant legal practice in diverse areas of law.

* A demonstrated commitment to excellent classroom teaching is required. Prior law school teaching is strongly preferred.

* Candidates must have the ability to work effectively with students, colleagues, and community members from different backgrounds.

Job Specific Qualifications

* Strong research and writing skills are necessary for this position.

* Provide detailed feedback on student assignments, prepare classes, and work on projects and other student assignments as needed.

Responsibilities

* Order the appropriate books and materials in advance of the class start date.

* Prepare lectures, projects and other student assignments.

* Maintain regularly scheduled office hours.

* Present instruction based on the competencies and performance levels of the course.

* Meet all designated class periods.

* Submit completed mid-semester progress reports and final grades according to the College of Law and University regulations.

* Grade student assignments and exams in a timely manner.

* Provide departmentally sanctioned forms for completed student evaluations.
