Location:
Syracuse, NY 13203, USA (on site, part‑time).
Provide instruction focusing on teaching and learning to help students meet all course outcomes and classroom objectives. Plan and facilitate instruction consistent with the Community of Inquiry Framework and the Seven Principles for Good Practice; maintain appropriate course‑level rigor; integrate the College’s four lifelong learning competencies; establish a supportive classroom climate; and provide skills assistance and administrative contact hours.
Essential Position Responsibilities and Functions- Teach courses, ensuring student success and alignment with course outcomes.
- Plan instruction and assessment in accordance with College standards.
- Integrate lifelong learning competencies into all courses.
- Maintain an inclusive, positive classroom climate consistent with College values.
- Provide one skills‑assistance contact hour per five instructional hours and promote student attendance.
- Participate in professional development activities, including engagement with professional organizations and ongoing dialogue with peer faculty.
- Document professional development in an electronic portfolio.
- Fulfill administrative duties: paperwork, contact hours, and adherence to operational policies.
- Engage in curriculum monitoring and development, providing feedback to curriculum developers.
- Attend required College functions, including graduations and special activities.
- Support campus‑wide initiatives for recruitment, retention, and graduation attainment, and regularly meet with program advisors to discuss student performance.
- Master’s degree in an appropriate field from a USDE‑recognized accredited institution.
- Occupational Therapy or Occupational Therapy Assistant license in the state or jurisdiction of the program.
- Expertise in teaching responsibilities and knowledge of delivery methods.
- Teaching experience preferred.
- Discipline‑specific workplace experience a plus.
- Professionalism, integrity, self‑esteem, self‑motivation, and a strong desire to guide students toward improved career prospects.
- Maintain a contemporary skill set supporting active learning and authentic assessment.
Compensation: $1,000 per credit hour (base pay estimate; total compensation details provided during the interview).
