Position: Adjunct Instructor of Low Brass - Onondaga Community College
Job Description:

SUNY Onondaga Community College invites applications for an Adjunct Instructor of Low Brass (trombone, euphonium, and tuba) beginning in August 2026. Primary responsibilities include teaching applied low brass lessons to both music majors and non-majors.

The successful candidate must also be available to lead the weekly studio class during the  academic year:

* MUS
121J/221J*:
Brass Repertory (T 2:20PM-3:15PM;
* cross listed course)

Preference may be given to candidates who are available to teach the following course in Fall 2026:

* MUS
105/301:
Survey of Western Music History I (M/W/F 9:05AM-10:00AM)

Requirements:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

* Master's degree in Music from an accredited university, college or foreign equivalency.

* Minimum of three years of successful experience teaching low brass lessons

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

* Master's or Doctoral degree in Trombone, Euphonium, or Tuba Performance or a related field from an accredited university, college or foreign equivalency.

* College-level teaching experience in Music History or Music Theory, in addition to applied low brass instruction

* Bilingual in English and Spanish. English and other languages will be considered.

Additional Information:

* Adjunct rate of pay for the 26/27 academic year is $1,527/credit hour. Classes will be assigned on an as needed basis dependent upon enrollment.

* Adjuncts are eligible to participate in the NYS Teacher's Retirement System.
