Introduction to Spanish Literature (Fall 2026)
The Department of Languages, Literatures, and Linguistics is seeking a part-time instructor to teach one 3-credit section of SPA
321 (Introduction to Spanish Literature) in the fall 2026 semester, which begins on August 24, 2026 (appointment begins on August 17, 2026). SPA
321 (Introduction to Spanish Literature); 3 credits Introductory-level study of representative literary texts of Spain from the 12th century to the present.
Master's Degree required; native or near-native fluency required. Experience in university-level teaching preferred.
Responsibilities include developing and/or updating a class syllabus, ordering appropriate books and materials in advance of the class start date, preparation of lectures, projects or other student assignments, maintaining regularly scheduled office hours of two hours per week, presenting instruction based on the competencies and performance levels of the class, meeting all designated class periods, working with the academic unit to maintain student learning outcomes, submitting completed mid-semester progress reports and final grades according to University regulations, grading student assignments and exams in a timely manner, providing departmentally sanctioned forms for completed student evaluations, completing all other course related duties as outlined by your department's policies for part-time instructors, and building a positive rapport with the students and faculty.
