Science Teacher

SANY’s Syracuse Academy of Science High School is excited to announce an immediate opening for a Science Teacher (Grades 8-12) for the  Academic Year.

We are looking for dynamic and creative teachers. The school offers a supportive environment for new teachers and encourages experienced teachers to apply.

• Provide engaging lesson plans that conform to the charter’s curriculum.
• Collaborate with staff to determine charter requirements for instructional goals, objectives, and methods.
• Prepare students for standardized tests relevant to the content area.
• Demonstrate excellent content knowledge and pedagogical skills.
• Use analytics and data to drive instruction and promote learning.
• Appreciate regular feedback, accountability, and rewards for effective teaching.
• Maintain strong classroom management.

• Bachelor’s degree required;
  Master’s degree preferred.
• New York State certification preferred.
• Experience with diverse student populations or in an urban setting is a plus.
• Prior teaching experience preferred; novice teachers encouraged to apply.
• Fingerprint clearance through NYS Department of Education required.
