Position SummaryThe Assistant Director is responsible to educate incoming freshman, transfers, parents and counselors about Le Moyne College and the overall college admission process and manage all aspects of college admission including recruitment, counseling, academic advising and evaluation of prospective students and applicants.
This position is based at Le Moyne College in Syracuse, NY with a main recruitment territory of Metro NY. This position requires travel to the Metro NY area for student recruitment.
Principal Duties and Essential FunctionsJob duties specific to this position:
- Participate as an active member of the professional admission team to design, develop and implement successful marketing and recruitment strategies and plans.
- Successfully manage assigned primary, secondary and tertiary geographic territories conducting extensive travel to build pipelines, lead recruitment events and expand institutional reach.
- Counsel, advise and interview prospective first-year and transfer students to guide them through the enrollment lifecycle.
- Evaluate prospective students’ application materials for final recommendations on admission decision.
- Engage in targeted telemarketing and outreach activities to prospective students and applicants.
- Lead the organization and execution of on-campus events with the support of the Director of First Year Admission.
- Plan and host on campus programs for specific student demographics.
- Maximize opportunities regarding the college admission process and access to Le Moyne College by delivering inclusive, culturally sensitive guidance to diverse students, parents and counselors.
- Responsible for specific program responsibilities as assigned by Director (ex: travel coordination, tour guides, etc.).
- Build, expand, and maintain an internal recruitment database.
- Plans travel and recruitment in the Metro NY area.
- Coordinate or assist with other admission related events and programs.
- Demonstrates and role-models all of Le Moyne’s mission-based competencies (collaboration, communication, diversity, integrity, leadership and service) in every interaction with all community members and external parties.
- Strengthen digital literacy skills through education and the application of digital technologies in order to effectively engage in information gathering, utilization and data management while promoting a security culture.

- Promotes cura apostolica by aligning professional goals, objectives, and performance with college’s strategic goals.
