The Setnor School of Music within the College of Visual and Performing Arts seeks Part-Time Instructor to teach AMC
799 Capstone Project, a three credit hour course, during the Fall semester, 2026. Coaching students through final research project in the Master of Music Vocal Pedagogy degree program.
A minimum of a Master of Music (preferred), or demonstrable equivalent professional experience. Demonstrated successful college level teaching experience is strongly preferred. The candidate should have strong attention to detail, knowledge of course content, demonstrated pedagogical ability, as well as the ability to relate well in a classroom and one-on-one environment with college-level students. Preference will be given to applicants who are able to fulfill multiple positions within the Setnor School of Music.
Responsibilities include weekly coaching of Vocal Pedagogy students, developing and/or updating a class syllabus, preparing projects or other student assignments, maintaining regularly scheduled office hours, presenting instruction based on the competencies and performance levels of the course, meeting all designated class periods, submitting completed mid-semester progress reports and final grades according to university regulations, grading student assignments and exams in a timely manner, providing departmentally sanctioned forms for completed student evaluations, and building a positive rapport with students and other faculty.
