Position: Part-Time Faculty: DRM 300 Selected Topics: Dramaturgy (Fall 2026)
The School of Art within the College of Visual and Performing Arts seeks a Part-Time Instructor to teach DRM 300 Selected Topics:
Dramaturgy, a two credit hour, online asynchronous course, during the Fall semester, 2026.

The Department of Drama seeks an instructor for dramaturgy. The instructor will mentor students assigned as dramaturgs for the department and Syracuse Stage productions.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Drama or equivalent professional experience in dramaturgy.

Job Specific Qualifications

* Five plus years experience working in theater in either a professional or academic setting.

* Prior teaching experience preferred.

Responsibilities

* Developing a class syllabus.

* Preparation of lectures or assignments.

* Maintaining regularly scheduled office hours.

* Presenting instruction based on the competencies of the course.

* Submitting completed mid-semester progress reports and final grades according to University regulations.

* Grading student assignments and exams in a timely manner.

* Providing departmentally sanctioned forms for completed student evaluations.
