Associate Professor of Law – Civil Procedure, Alternative Dispute Resolution, Contracts and Other Areas
Associate Professor, Tenure‑track, expected start:
August 2027.
Applicants should be prepared to teach courses in the residential law program and in the online JD interactive program. Candidates are expected to teach a first‑year or core upper‑division course, and additional courses as needed.
Qualifications- Distinguished academic record and JD from an accredited law school.
- Preferred post‑JD experience: advanced degrees, judicial clerkships, relevant legal practice, or similar experience.
- Demonstrated commitment to excellent classroom teaching and scholarship.
- Experience with teaching a first‑year or core upper‑division course.
- Maintain an active research agenda.
- Fulfill committee service requirements.
- Develop and/or update class syllabi in compliance with College of Law policies.
- Order appropriate books and materials in advance of class start dates.
- Prepare lectures, projects, and other student assignments.
- Maintain regularly scheduled office hours.
- Present instruction based on competencies and performance levels.
- Meet all designated class periods.
- Submit grades according to college and university regulations.
- Grade student assignments and exams in a timely manner.
- Provide departmentally sanctioned forms for completed student evaluations.
- Build a positive rapport with students and faculty.
Salary range: $125,000–$145,000. Faculty pay is based on an 8.5‑month salary unless otherwise specified. Benefits are included.
