The OCC Counseling & Community Care Hub is seeking applicants for part-time Federal Work Study Community Care Hub/Counseling Office Assistants. This confidential position is open to students with enough Work Study funds to last through the Fall
2026 semester.
DUTIES INCLUDE:
Assist students utilizing the Food Pantry, adhering to strict guidelines of the Food Bank of CNY. General cleaning/upkeep of the Food Pantry. Disinfect commonly touched surfaces within office. Stock shelves, rotate goods, and ensure food is easily visible and accessible to clients at all times. Put up/take down flyers on bulletin boards on all floors of each academic building on campus.
"Table" at various locations throughout campus to promote awareness of the services of the Community Care Hub and Counseling Center.
Manage front desk operations during lunch breaks/Office Coordinator's absence, such as answering phones, taking detailed messages, checking students in for appointments, connecting students with appropriate resources to address student's needs.
Assist students in crisis and/or with sensitive situations with confidentiality, empathy and professionalism. Other duties as assigned by Work Study Supervisor.
- Must have a financial need, as demonstrated by the FAFSA
- Must be matriculated into a program
- Attending at least half-time (6 credit hours)
- Maintain satisfactory progress (SAP) towards the completion of their program
- Current student in good standing at OCC
- Appropriate dress, grooming and hygiene required.
- Successful candidate will have:
- A friendly, positive, professional demeanor;
- Excellent communication skills;
- Excellent attendance record.
- Must be efficient, responsible and have reliable transportation.

- Pay Rate:
- Starting rate of $16.00 for new Federal Work Studies.
- Starting rate of $17.00for returning Federal Work Studies
- Hours of Operations:Monday-Friday 8:30am- 4:30pm

Federal Work Study may work up to20 hours per weekwhile classes are in session.
