Admission Counselor
Le Moyne College, located in Syracuse, N.Y., is an independent college established by the Jesuits in 1946 to provide students with a values-based, comprehensive academic program designed to foster intellectual excellence and preparation for a life of leadership and service. Today, Le Moyne has evolved into a nationally acclaimed college of liberal arts and sciences that draws students from across the U.S. and abroad.
The Admission Counselor is responsible to educate incoming freshman, transfers, parents and counselors about Le Moyne College and the overall college admission process and manage all aspects of college admission including recruitment, counseling, academic advising and evaluation of prospective students and applicants.
This position is based at Le Moyne College in Syracuse, NY with a main recruitment territory of Metro NY. This position requires travel to the Metro NY area for student recruitment.
Principal Duties and
Essential Functions:
- Contribute to the design, development and execution of marketing and recruitment strategies to drive enrollment growth by collaborating with the Director and admission team.
- Successfully manage assigned primary, secondary and tertiary geographic territories, conducting extensive travel to build pipelines, lead recruitment events and expand institutional reach.
- Counsel, advise and interview prospective first-year and transfer students to guide them through the enrollment lifecycle.
- Evaluate prospective students' application materials for final recommendations on admission decisions.
- Engage in targeted telemarketing and outreach activities to prospective students and applicants.
- Assist in the coordination and execution of campus open house recruitment events.
- Plan and host on campus programs for specific student demographics.
- Maximizes opportunities regarding the college admission process and access to Le Moyne College by delivering inclusive, culturally sensitive guidance to diverse students, parents and counselors.
- Plans travel and recruitment in the Metro NY area:
- Visit high schools, junior colleges and multicultural agencies to educate students and counselors about Le Moyne College to build relationships and expand College visibility
- Conduct off campus interviews during recruiting trips.
- Engage with local alumni during travel to strengthen relationships and support local enrollment initiatives
- Represent Le Moyne College at organized off campus recruiting programs including, college nights, national and regional colleges, fairs and mini days.
- Plan, schedule, and present at Student Information Sessions in targeted geographic areas. (off-campus receptions)
- Plan, schedule, and present at off campus guidance counselor breakfasts, dinners and association meetings.
- Participate in panel presentations at secondary schools when invitations are extended to us.
- Coordinate or assist with other admission related events and programs.

- Performs a variety of related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited College or University required.
- Experience working in an admission office preferred.
- Valid Driver's License required.
- Excellent oral, presentation and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and time management.
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
- Flexibility and willingness to work extended hours during various time periods including evenings and weekends.
- High level of initiative and imagination.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred, but not required.
