We are partnering with a leading, highly respected precision metal finishing manufacturer to support a confidential search for a Facilities Engineer / Project Manager (Onsite). Our client provides specialized surface treatment and finishing services for mission-critical components across regulated industries including aerospace, defense, medical, and advanced manufacturing, and is known for delivering high-specification solutions in compliance-driven environments.
About the RoleThis role will oversee the design, planning, implementation, and tracking of facility-related capital and improvement projects within a fast-paced manufacturing operation. The Facilities Engineer / Project Manager will collaborate closely with senior leadership, maintenance, production, and engineering teams to develop detailed project schedules, ensure execution on time and within budget, and provide hands‑on technical support from upfront design through final implementation.
The position will also play a key role in supporting uptime of critical facility equipment through troubleshooting expertise and operational partnership.
- Develop project charters and execute facility improvement initiatives from concept through completion
- Manage scope, resources, budgets, risk mitigation, and quality requirements
- Build and maintain detailed project schedules in collaboration with internal stakeholders and contractors
- Create and manage engineering documentation including drawings, schematics, and programs
- Design, optimize, and maintain facility systems and related equipment
- Investigate and resolve complex facility and equipment issues
- Monitor project progress, adjust plans as needed, and ensure deliverables meet standards
- Coordinate external consultants and vendor activity across departments
- Track expenditures, manage project costs, and communicate updates to stakeholders
- Conduct post-project evaluations and lessons learned reviews
- Support additional facility and engineering initiatives as assigned
- Bachelor’s or Associate degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field
- 5–10 years of relevant engineering experience in a manufacturing setting
- 5+ years of project management experience (or equivalent combination of education and training)
- Strong understanding of manufacturing methods, layout, flow, and production equipment
- Strong technical aptitude with the ability to apply lean thinking and structured project execution
- Excellent planning, organization, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Ability to manage multiple detailed projects in a fast-paced environment
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with internal teams and external partners
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Ability to work onsite and perform physical requirements including lifting up to 40 lbs as needed
