AJD Consulting Solutions is partnering with a leading innovator in the electrical and wiring systems space to identify a Mechanical Engineer II (New Product Development). This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys taking products from early concept through production while balancing innovation, manufacturability, and real-world customer needs.

You’ll play a hands‑on role in designing and improving products that are built to scale—working cross‑functionally with marketing, manufacturing, electrical engineering, and external partners.

• Partner with Product Marketing to help define product specifications, user needs, codes, standards, and competitive insights
• Create sketches, 3D models, and prototypes to explore and evaluate multiple design concepts
• Select optimal design solutions based on customer requirements, cost, and manufacturability
• Develop final 3D models, assemblies, and drawings using Solid Works and related CAD tools
• Collaborate with IP and legal resources to protect intellectual property and avoid patent conflicts
• Work closely with Electrical Engineers to integrate PCBs and electrical components into mechanical designs
• Drive designs through modeling, prototyping, testing, pilot builds, and first-article inspections
• Partner with Advanced Manufacturing, Tool Shops, and Production teams to source prototype and production components
• Produce and maintain production documentation including drawings, BOMs, specifications, and quality/testing requirements
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously and drive them to timely, effective completion

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) required
• 5–10 years of mechanical engineering experience, preferably in new product development
• Experience with electro‑mechanical product design and high-volume manufacturing
• Proficiency in 3D CAD software (Solid Works preferred) and document management tools
• Knowledge of injection‑molded and stamped component design
• Ability to perform engineering calculations; FEA experience a plus
• Strong cross‑functional collaboration and communication skills
• Familiarity with UL requirements, Eco Design principles, and ISO 14001 preferred
• Experience with connected or IoT-enabled products is a plus

$100,000 – $110,000 annual salary, commensurate with experience
