Quality Engineer
Lead continuous improvement efforts within the manufacturing cell by analyzing data to determine appropriate root causes and corrective actions. Responsible for the review and disposition of non-conforming products. Develop qualification protocols and control plans to meet all customer requirements while minimizing scrap and eliminating customer returns. Ensure all instructions are in place to meet customer, FDA, and other agency requirements. Support Technicians by creating and explaining procedures and quality standards.

- Analyze data to determine appropriate root cause and corrective actions.
- Review and dispose of non-conforming products.
- Develop qualification protocols and control plans to meet customer requirements.
- Minimize scrap and eliminate customer returns.
- Ensure compliance with customer, FDA, and other agency requirements.
- Support Technicians by creating and explaining procedures and quality standards.
- Quality engineering experience with ISO 9001, CAPA, and medical devices.
- Proficiency in quality control, quality assurance, and audits.
- Experience with QMS systems.
- Advanced computer proficiency.
- Attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, blueprints, operating and maintenance instructions, and SOPs.
- Strong mathematical skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out written, oral, or diagram instructions.
- Proficient in the use of statistical tools and understanding of Statistical Process Control methodology.
Skills & Qualifications
- Degree in a relevant field of study with 2+ years of experience in quality engineering, or a High School Diploma/GED with 5+ years of manufacturing experience.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Multitasking and problem-solving skills involving several variables.
- BS/BA degree in a relevant field of study (preferred).
- Six-sigma experience (green or black belt preferred).
The work environment includes exposure to moving mechanical parts, vibration, and moderate noise levels. There may be requirements to work in controlled environments necessitating special attire such as hairnets and facial hair guards, gloves, and restrictions on specific items.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Syracuse, NY.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $41.00 - $55.00/hr eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
